Coordinator for civil society projects & networking

radius is an office for communication, campaigns, strategy and training founded in 2023 and based in Vienna. As a collective, radius works with various civil society organizations and institutions on progressive social and ecological projects and campaigns and supports social movements with training and advice. radius is organized as an association, which is run and developed by the employees and some other association members as a collective in a self-determined and collaborative manner.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a:n

Coordinator for civil society projects & networking as a collective member (20-25 hours per week).

In this position, you will help shape radius as part of our collective and contribute to our consulting and networking activities as well as communication and campaigning work and consulting, depending on current projects. Together with us, you will work with various partner organizations on socially relevant projects in areas such as democracy and civic engagement, social justice, mobility, environmental protection and climate justice. The exact combination of activities depends on your strengths and previous experience.

Central tasks:

  • Coordination, planning and moderation of planning and working meetings; regular exchange with project partners;
  • Networking activities, representation of radius at various civil society events
  • Development of and advice on strategies, communication concepts and campaigns
  • Collaboration in consulting and training for civil society initiatives
  • Project acquisition and professional project management
  • Independent research and application of relevant funding opportunities
  • Independent implementation of communication work, e.g. copywriting, press relations, social media, content creation

Skills & Requirements:

  • Experience and routine in managing projects with multiple stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Excellent communication skills, experience in creating and implementing communication strategies and plans;
  • High level of textual confidence and creativity when writing a wide variety of texts for different media;
  • Experience in civil society organizations, social movements and with various forms of political activism
  • Good knowledge of Austrian politics and the media landscape. Ideally already good contacts with key actors in civil society organizations, social movements, journalists and other relevant actors;
  • Team orientation, independent working style, adaptability and the ability to deal confidently with stressful situations;
  • Good knowledge of (digital) campaign tools, social media platforms, newsletter/email marketing platforms, WordPress etc. a great advantage.
  • Experience in knowledge transfer or adult education (workshops, further education courses, training courses, etc.) is a great advantage
  • In-depth methodological skills and experience in moderating meetings, group and networking meetings etc. an advantage
  • Excellent knowledge of English is an advantage;

  • A permanent position of 20-25 hours with a monthly fixed salary of € 3,152 (14x) based on 40 hours per week.
